Knowledge resource 103 views 1 replies

Hi Guys,

I am a working professional doing job in an MNC. I had completed my CA Inter in 2012. But due to multiple failures and some unavoidable reasons, I could not clear my CA Final and started job in June 2015. Now, I am 30, married now and have a 2 year old son. I want to resume my CA course. Could somebody guide how should I start. I have opted for New Course(Ca Final). I am planning for preparing first group first and targeting Nov 2021 attempt. All this with my job as I can not afford to leave job. Could any good soul guide me?

Hey Kuldeep! Balancing CA Final prep with a full-time job and family is definitely challenging but totally doable with the right approach. Here’s a practical plan to get you started on the CA Final New Course for the Nov 2021 attempt:

1. Plan Your Time Smartly

  • Daily Study Hours: Aim for 2-3 hours on weekdays and 5-6 hours on weekends.

  • Early Mornings or Late Nights: Use quiet hours when the family demands are less.

  • Consistency Over Intensity: Even 2 hours daily consistently beats cramming.

2. Start With Group 1 Subjects

  • Group 1 includes:

    • Financial Reporting (FR)

    • Strategic Financial Management (SFM)

    • Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics (AA)

    • Corporate and Economic Laws (CL)

3. Subject-wise Strategy

  • Financial Reporting & Auditing: Heavy concepts and lots of practice. Use ICAI materials and past RTPs/may or nov revisions.

  • SFM: Focus on formulas and concepts, practice questions daily.

  • Laws: Reading and understanding the bare acts + case laws, revise frequently.

4. Leverage Technology

  • Use video lectures (like CAclubindia, SuperProfs, or other trusted sources).

  • Use mobile apps or digital notes for quick revisions.

  • Regularly revise concepts to avoid last-minute stress.

5. Mock Tests & Revision

  • Start taking mock tests once you finish the syllabus of a subject.

  • Analyze mistakes and revise weak areas.

  • Practice past 5 years’ question papers for time management.

6. Health & Family Time

  • Don’t compromise on sleep.

  • Allocate time for family, even short but quality time keeps you motivated.

7. Stay Positive & Seek Support

  • Join CA Final study groups for motivation.

  • Talk to seniors/friends who cleared while working.

  • Remember, many have succeeded balancing both — you can too!
