Dear professionals,

I have cleared 2nd group of CA final and I am writing 1st group this nov09. I am willing to practice. I need exposure in assessment procedures and I havent done a proper audit in my articleship. Those so called statutory audits are not really audits. So I decided to work in audit firm after my exams. My question is

1. Will any of big 4 take unqualified people like me otherwise than in articleship?

2. If i work in any of big 4, will i get exposure in assessment procedures as well as statutory audit?

3. Or is it advisable to work in medium size firm??

4. What salary i can request if i join in such medium size firm for my experience and qualification?

Please clarify in this regard..

If you want to practice the its advisble to go with medium size firms, you will get lots of exposure, in big4 you will work in one field..Big4 will be us when you go for companies jobs..dont think of salary first get good exposure by working with midsize firms..if you complete ca they can give 10 to 12k...But again they will see your knwoledge and exp....forget about salary first look after the exposure..All the best..

working in a firm is only a part of the work. you also need to look in to develop a client base for yourself so that you get to handle the problems faced in the field. a job in any firm would only give you limited exposure in terms of assessment or audits. to get into real practice you need to handle cases yourself even if it is a small one
