How to know deductor type

The fourth character of the PAN must be one of the following, depending on the type of assesse:

C — Company

P — Person

H — HUF(Hindu Undivided Family)

F — Firm

A — Association of Persons (AOP)

T — AOP (Trust)

B — Body of Individuals (BOI)

L — Local Authority

J — Artificial Juridical Person

G — Govt

You must be aware about the organization for which TDS return in being filed i.e. whether it is an Individual, Partner Ship Firm, Company, Branch of Company, Govt etc. but that must match with Income Tax Department TAN Database alternatively You can know the deductor type in you TAN Certificate issued by Income Tax Department. It is also shown in traces portal

There was one option "know your tan jurisdiction" in efilingincometaxindia webiste but it's removed now.

Second option: Do you have your TAN application ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NUMBER ?
