How to import notpad data into excel

1116 views 2 replies

I transferred a file from a database that will only save reports in Notepad.
I then, cut and paste the data into Excel. However all of the info is merged
into one cell. How can I format this data, so that it will be a simple
worksheet with more than one cell? i.e. Name, SSN, Home address should all be in different cells

Do i require any software or is there any technique or tool which can help me to import  into excel....

Got the ans...

In Excel go to File>Open. Select the 'Text File' in drop down Option of "Files of type"(see bottom area). then browse and single click on the file u want to import, after that Open buton automatically gets highlghted and then click to open.

After clicking open, step 1 of step by step windows opens and proceed further acc to ur own requirement.

Enjoy importing..

Just use the import option given in Excel- data. or you can use the following option also.

In Excel go to File>Open. Select the Notepad.txt file and OK.

Abhi
