To get exemption, to the point answers are required and be specific to what is asked for in question, don't add your own explanation which can be not related to question, examiner can deduct marks on extra irrelevant knowledge.
And to be able to do what Navin said, it's very imp to first know what is the subject talking about, try making sense out of it, rattofying without understanding is a big NO! It's no rocket science!
Study of practice manual is sufficiently to get an exemption??

For may 2015 .. I advise you to study each and every question in practice manual ..and
try to remember and write key terminology of each question as notes ..

I got 69 by study material twice reading Must make your own notes from study material . as there won't be changes in isca just mug up headings and note key points side the para that's it
As per my view just complete reading of just Study Material and give your 1hr daily for revision . You will surely get Exemption .Don`t try anything else. Even Practice Manual is not require to read
