DIN AND SECTION 139(9) ARE TWO DIFFERENT ASPECT.
DIN STANDS FOR A NUMBER.
139(9) IS A DEFECTIVE RETURN .
THE QUERIST HAS RECEIVED A NOTICE UNDER SECTION 139(9) .
SO HE HAS TO FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING COURSE OF ACTION:(I WILL TELL IT PARTIALLY)

1 A return is defective when all items in income tax return form must be filled in the manner indicated in the return form.If any schedule of the relevant form is not applicable it should be scored as---NA____---
2. THE RETURN OF INCOME WILL BE CONSIDERED AS DEFECTIVE UNLESS THE TAX TOGETHER WITH INTEREST IF ANY APPLICABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SEC 140A HAD BEEN PAID BEFORE THE DUE DATE OF RETURN OF INCOME.
3. A FEW STATEMENTS,PROOFS ,PRE PAID TAXES SHOULD ACCOMPANY THE RETURN , OTHERWISE THE SAME WILL BE REGARDED AS DEFECTIVE.

My concern is
when i file itr to response defective return it's showing 1 error & demanding *Unique Number/ Document identification number*, so do you help me to how can i find this number
