How to claim lost shares (listed)

Others 861 views 1 replies

My father was purchased some equity shares of MRPL & SBBJ in the year 2005 in phisical farmat and he is no more since 2008. The companies are sending Dividend of the shares regularly in his name, but we are unable to encash these due to his signature.

Further one known person told us that you can dematerialise these share in the name of his wife and then you can able to encash these dividends and also you can able to sold these shares., but problem with us is we don't have any share certificates of these shares with us.

Can any expert of this subject ,guide us regarding the matter, so that we can  able to demaerialize these equity in to the name of my mother.

Thanks,

Hi, Im not an expert per se in this matter, but I have been through a similar situation.

You might want to write to/call the companies that you mentioned and explain your situation.

They will guide you through the process.

Usually they would ask for a copy of the death certificate and an affidavit from the person in whos name the shares are to be transferred/ new certificates ought to be issued.

Do get back if you run into any difficulties ...
