How Tax on Provident Fund implies?

ITR 254 views 1 replies

I have been doing the service for 9 years. If I give resign and withdraw all provident fund (Emp. share + employer share + Emp. Pension Scheme share).

The total amount of the provident fund is around 4 Lakhs and I have been filling the ITR's for many years NIL because I am under the TAX Exemption bracket.

My question -  How much tax can be on a 4 Lakh amount or is this amount tax-free? How do we show this amount in ITR and in which section?

KINDLY HELP ME BY SOLVING THIS QUERY.

Thanks,

MUNISH NARANG
