How much tax to pay?

ITR 241 views 4 replies

January 2016 (my account balance is 17,000) and i started working for a Paris company as designer remote job.

December 2016 (my account balance is same 17,000) but in 12 months i earned and spended 15 lakh from my job, so if i check my 12 months bank account statement it shows:

Opening Balance: 17,000

Debits: 15,000,000

Credits: 15,000,000

Closing Balance: 17,000

Earlier i never paid any tax becuase i started working from this year only, and whatever i earned this year i have spended all amount so do i have to pay tax? and if yes then how much.

Though you earned 15 lakhs during calander year, but tax is to be paid on income(salary) earned during financial year.  Estimate income of the financial year ending March 2017, and pay advance tax. Take help of any local CA.

yes you have to pay tax even though you have spent everything. you need to pay around 2.8L without considering any ch vi deductions.
google chapter via deductions to know more and save tax
It doesn't matters how much you spend out of your income earned. Since your income is above basic exemption limit, hence you are liable to pay tax as per slab rates applicable for such Financial year. Moreover, you are also liable to pay advance tax as your estimated income exceeded ₹10.50 lacs. It is adviced to take help of tax practitioner near you.
