How is GST calculated when you rent out a commercial property for residential purposes?

If your rent is less than 20 lacs then no need to charge GST, if your rent exceeds then rent plus GST, if you didn't charge separately then assume rent includes GST. Calculate GST as (rent/100+gst rate) *GST rate.
