Housing loan vs hra

Hello peoples,

Is that possible to avail both HRA and Housing loan tax benefits at the same time? In my case we have took a home loan and constructed a house in my native where my parents live. And I’m staying in Chennai in a rented house. So our house property is self occupied in my native and I do pay my rent in Chennai. Am I eligible to avail both the benefits?

Thanks

Yes. It is possible only  when your own house located in the city other then your woking City,

yes, your working area should be different than your own property

Thanks guys

I have booked an apartment from a builder. The building is under construction and due for possession in more than a year time. I have availed a housing loan for which I am paying EMI. I am staying in a rented house in the same city. My query: Can I calim exemption on both, rent paid and interest paid for the loan? Do I need occupancy certificate to avail exemption on housing loan?

What will be the answer once I occupy and start living in the new (own) house and continue pying my EMI as usual. Can I claim HRA and interest exemption both in this case?
