House registry document required to submit for LTCG with CA

Tax queries 774 views 5 replies

I purchased plot from X seller. Seller X is asking for sale deed(registry) copy for LTCG tax purpose.

1. Is it legally mandatory to give Sale deed copy to seller after registry in Sub-registrar office.

2. At a time of file ITR then any need to upload sale deed(registry) copy to online or any need to give sale deed(registry) copy to CA?

3. Without sale deed(registry) copy, no taxpayers can file LTCG(long term capital gain) with income tax online/offline?

1. If purchaser do not want to give Xerox copy of Sale deed to seller then is there any legal problem with purchaser ?

1. sale deed is required for the purpose of sale amount. Long term capital gain or short term capital gain is calculated from the difference of sale value or purchase value.
2. At the time of filing of ITR, no document is required in to upload on the portal of income tax
3. without sale deed copy, taxpayer can file ITR. only sale amount is required for calculation of LTCG
