If you are sure that you will get a rank in 7th attempt and your wish is to be a rank holder, then go for it. But, if you are not sure, then appear for 1 group in 6th attempt and the other in 7th attempt. Because, attempts do matter and wasting your one attempt will be a bad decision.
So, decide wisely.

job opportunities is not a matter of rank or attemt.. becase I know rank holders workin under non rank holders..what matters is your skill.. so without any hesitation. .go for attemt..

Yes.. age does matter.. as age progress..you skill is expected to progress. so obviously you wont get preference over young one if both of the applicant bears same set of skills. even your rank may not be able to give you preference...

the only thing which can give you preference is your in depth knowledge and high quality skill..understanding of easy and comlex issue..thats it.. once you have these..no matter your age or rank..you will succeed

Stay focused on your goal at present. Don't think too much about other things.
