Header and Footer

Header and footer are used to diplay contents in more than one page. Is there a way wherein i can make it display only for the pages i want. For. eg. certain headings for a report, i want to display only from page 2 to page 10. page 1 and pages after page 10 have nothing to do with this header.

can anyone help me?

Yes dear, in ms-word you can use section brack command to split the header and footers
Hi Dashrath, I am also facing the same problem as Kartik has and also tried the section break command But could not get the desired result. Can you through some more light on this aspect? Thank you in advance
I got a mail from one person. what he said was to select page set up in header and footer, click layout and under headers and footers, select different first page. but it excludes only first page and appears in all other pages.
open a word document go to view>header and footer insert ur desired text and close the header and footer. now press Ctrl+Enter -- this will help u to open a fresh page (i mean next page) in the second page, double click the header or footer. edit the text and unlock the link to previous botton in the header and footer tool bar. repeat the steps, if u need to modify the header and footer again... if u r not able to do, please mail me i will send you the self-illustrated document

HI Kamaraj, I followed u r method but then header of the first page disappears
sorry dear i skipped one step

in first page, after entering the Header and footer, please go to insert>breaks>continous.

then press Ctrl+Enter.

now follow the steps what i previously told...

As I see, one can have maximum three headers in a MS WORD document, described as follows :

1. A Different header/footer for first page
2. A different header/foorer for even pages (but all even pages will carry same h/f)
3. A different header/foorer for odd pages (but all odd pages will carry same h/f)

The same is with Star / Open Office Suite.
dear VIjay Patnaik, u just follow the steps u can add 'n' number of h/f.
