I went to Bandra Income Tax office in Mumbai where the officers said that the Government has suspended payment of refunds (due to Government deficit and other liquidity problmes) for any assessment year(including the current assessment year). I thought it was a joke but I hear the same from 3-4 officials. Is there any truth in the same? They said to enquire about a month later as that is when they think it might resume..
Have any others also hear about such or is it just that the officials are trying to fool?
