Gta query
Mr.A ( Individual ) gets a Transportation contract from a COMPANY. And Mr.A Sub Contracts it to another 4 contractors ( Individuals ). Only those 4 contractors will do the Transportation work for the company. In this case, Who will be paying Service Tax? and What is the Provision regarding Service Tax on the above issue?

Service Tax is payable by either Transporter or consignor.consignee.
If consignor or consignee is ready to pay service tax, Mr. A has nothing to bother.
If they are not ready to pay the service tax, then Mr. A will have to pay service tax and he will charge his service tax on bill.
In case of gta person liable to pay freight is the person who is req to pay tax. If company is paying freight then company will have to pay service tax.
