A GST Suvidha Centre is a support centre or service centre to provide consultancy and services to the people. A GST Suvidha Kendra is proclaimed by the GST Benefit Providers, also known as GBPs. From solving the query of how to register for GST to providing awareness of taking benefits from several schemes under GST, many services are provided in a GST Suvidha Kendra.

A GST Suvidha Kendra provides many governmental-issued services, including insurance, e-citizen queries, voter ID card, pension-related issues and several other issues. Moreover, this service centre plays an important aspect in simplifying the understanding of the government's digital services. These services include Aadhar card related services, e-courts and other Digital India services.

A GST Suvidha Centre also supports several financial services, including income tax return and audit, GST return filing, DSC and accounting, CA certification, Udyog Aadhar, etc.

Role of Inspectors

  1. Verification and Scrutiny: Inspectors are primarily responsible for the verification of documents submitted by taxpayers. They ensure that the information provided is accurate and complies with GST regulations.
  2. Assistance and Guidance: They assist taxpayers in understanding their obligations under GST, including the filing of returns, payment of taxes, and eligibility for input tax credits.
  3. Supervision: Inspectors work under the supervision of higher officials, such as Deputy Commissioners or Assistant Commissioners, ensuring that operations within the GSK adhere to established guidelines.
  4. Training and Support: They may also be involved in training staff at the GSK to effectively assist taxpayers with their queries and issues related to GST compliance.
Role of ETO (Enforcement Tax Officer):

  1. Revenue Collection: ETOs focus on revenue collection and ensuring compliance with tax laws. They monitor transactions to prevent tax evasion and ensure that businesses are fulfilling their tax obligations.
  2. Field Inspections: ETOs conduct field inspections to verify the business operations of registered taxpayers. This includes checking records, invoices, and other documentation to ensure compliance with GST rules.
  3. Support for Complex Queries: They provide assistance on more complex issues that may arise during the operation of businesses under GST, such as disputes over tax rates or classification of goods and services.
  4. Reporting and Recommendations: ETOs compile reports based on their inspections and interactions with taxpayers, which can lead to recommendations for policy improvements or changes in procedures at the GSK.
