Gst-scn-address is incomplete

I have been issued a SCN for New GST Registration. It states that "Address is Incomplete". I have checked it and I am sure that address is correct. I am an E-Commerce seller operating from home.And its a rented premise. For proof of address I ha e uploaded only Rental Agreement.

By " Address is Incomplete" do they mean that I have to upload any other proof like electricity bill or property tax receipt?

Please help as I have tried to contact GST helpline. But its of no use.

Yes , You are correct , proof of owner is to be upload

I called on GST helpline and they asked me to attach 1st page of rent agreement. I have attached it alongwith Property Tax Bill and Payment Receipt. Also, in Additional Information Section, I have mentioned address as per rent agreement. Is it ok now?

Amey Ji, a rent agreement alone could not be a address proof. A person who owns property only can let it out to other person. For e.g. Mr. A and Mr. B entered into an agreement where Mr. A rented Mr. B a whole Delhi or say Mumbai. This rent agreement is valid only if Mr. A proves that Delhi or Mumbai is owned by him.

So while registering on GST portal you have to provide document which proves ownership of a person who rented out property to you.

Such document may be an Electricity Bill, Property Tax Receipt, A legal deed etc. You need to upload any one out of thses. Make sure those documents are in the name of a person who rented it out to you.
