Sir,

I have a small business which is not registered under GST  (Below Threshold limit). Now i want to start another new business and register it under GST (voluntary registration)

Is it necessary to register my First business also.

Businesses are located in different places in the same city and deal in different products 

please clarify

In case both businesses are run by same proprietor, both will be included for GST registration.

Since registration under GST is a PAN based registration, assessee has to get all of its establishments registered under GST, irrespective of place or different businesses, which operate under the same PAN.

Yes you have to club the both business it will help you indue course your states will be a registered dealer and useful in future
