The GST law allows businesses to register multiple verticals under a single GST Number within the same state.

If you start the same business in other state, you should register the business with that state government with the same pan number.

It is entirely different vertical business, you should register and maintain books of accounts separately.

You should declare your GST return GSTR-1 and GST3B for each business.

@ Mr Joshua Dsouza,

1. Another registration not mandatory. You can run the business in the same GSTIN.

2. Also, If You want separate registration then You register with same PAN. And You can keep the all details separately.
Yes it is mandatory to obtain GST registration for new business. Any person from a single PAN has to register for each and every business done under same PAN.

Now if the nature of business is completely different for both business then you can register with new GSTIN

Even the new business turnover is less than ₹ 20L is it mandatory to obtain GST registration
Yes as you are already registered in GST with same PAN.
As per section 2(6) of the CGST Act , person having same PAN number, then his turnover will be computed
of all business on PAN India basis.
Yes I agreed with Mr Prasad Nilugal reply.
@ Joshua Dsouza
You have both the option of using the existing GSTIN for the new business also or you can take a new registration for the new business. Its your choice therefore it is not mandatory to take registration for new business as you can do it under existing registration also.

Yes, @ Joshua Dsouza,

If You are not registered under GST then You don't want register GST if Your threshold limit is less than 20lakhs.

But, Already You are registered with the PAN. So, You (the pan) are a registered taxpayer under GST. Then GST is applicable Your incomes.

As per this Your new business is also GST  applicable. Turn over limit can't apply in this second income (business).

If the other business in same place belonging to same person - cannot obtain seperate registration
