If I export goods to Nepal and take payment in Indian Rupee, can I claim for Goods and Service Tax refund?

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies that exporting goods to Nepal qualifies as a zero-rated supply under GST law, making it eligible for refunds. It also addresses the specific query about accepting cash payments in Indian Rupees for such exports, referencing Rule 96B of the CGST Act and FEMA guidelines. The core question is whether FEMA permits cash receipts for exports to Nepal.

Export of goods to Nepal or Bhutan fulfils the condition of GST Law regarding taking goods out of India. Hence, export of goods to Nepal and Bhutan will be treated as zero orated and consequently will also qualify for all the benefits available to zero rated supplies under the GST regime.
