Gst rate reduced but consumer suffering not reduced

Rate / HSN codes 142 views 2 replies

On 15th November 2017, rate of GST on Restaurants had been reduced to 5% from earlier 18%. However, this didn't helped customers or the consumers. Reduction in GST rate provided an oppurtunity to some restaurants to increase prices and thereby nulliying effect of GST. On social media, there is an image showing difference between GST bill before and after.  MP Kirit Samaiya has taken a note of the same & requested GOI to take action against Restaurants not passing on benefits of GST reduction of 18% to 5% to the ultimate consumers. Henceforth, necessary actions has to bee taken. So, report on such issues if found. "Ignorance may not effect you but will lead to suffer for others unknown"
