The transportation of books is exempt from GST. This exemption is provided under Notification No. 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate), specifically under Entry No. 181. This notification exempts services by way of transportation of goods by road, except the services of a Goods Transport Agency (GTA) and a courier agency
