GST on Building given for Rent

Dear Team,

My client has his own business and is registered under GST. He has also purchased a residential building in the name of the company and has given the building on rent to residents.
Is he liable to declare the rental income under GST?

Please help. Thanks.

Quick Summary
A business owner registered for GST is seeking clarification on whether rental income from a residential building purchased by the company and rented to residents is subject to GST. While some advise that residential rentals are exempt from GST, others suggest checking for specific exemption notifications. The consensus leans towards GST not being applicable for residential properties rented for residential purposes, though commercial rentals would incur GST.
