I contacted one of the officer of the department.. He said we don't have any gstin which is unacceptable according to me.
Then why you want their gstn??
Because sir one of my client works as a contractor in that deptt. And i have to file gstr1. So how do i file B2B sale without gstin ?
Whether they have issued documents relating to the same??
No i haven't received any docs regarding gst. They issued a payment note regarding details of the payment but no gst number is mentioned in that document.
I think that your client is contractor and contract with Govt Department (for example making of road Highway etc) this case govt have TAN No. then you entered in TAN no. under B2B column place of Gst No. please try i think your problem is solved. it's my opinion sir

Try to search gstin by name in google you will get wwbsite add thire name in search box hope you will get some result.
I have already done the same sir but to no avail
