Will it be apt to focus on Gst more and omit few topics in Income tax for an ease over the subject ?

it depends on what you have studied earlier and quality of study. ..
I having good grip on DT then u can go.

Don't do. Because all topics in DT are linked to one another. If you omit fee topics you may not be able to answer well
