Hi Experts/Seniors,

We are small traders dealing with electrical items and supplying to verious Govt. Departments.  We registered under VAT earlier, as you aware unless there is no registration, the Govt departements will never accept tenders and issue purchase orders.

Based on VAT, we had allotted & registered under GST accordingly.  Though there is no necessary of registration as per GST turnover (i.e. below 20lakhs) clause/term, we had to register, becasue as explained above.

Now our question is, Can we modify our GST registration pattern to composition scheme(like TOT).  (please note that our July'17 GST 3B; GSTR1 already filed)

If yes, kindly guide how to proceed.... and also please guide.... by doing this, will there be any effect on/for our business....

Request experts & seniours to please advice in this regard....

Thanks in advance!!

GST council has extended the date for opting for composition scheme to 30 th Sep 2017. Benefit of opting to this will be available to them from 1st Oct 17.
You are required to file form no GST CMP 01 & GST CMP 03 for intimation & stock statement
Once you opt for composition scheme you shall
1) not issue Tax Invoice and instead issue Bill of Supply.
2) not collect taxes from buyers.
3) not make inter state sale

Yes. I agreed to Mr. Chhatra Singh Dugar...

But,

In case you supply Goods and Services then you can't opt in Composition Scheme. Bcoz, Service related works can't available under GST composition. (Except Restaurent)

Also, I'm not advised for Composition scheme for your above said work...

Bcoz, The Govt Dept not like Composite dealer. You can't take ITC from your purchase. You can receive any supplies from URD you ll be pay tax under RCM also you can't adjust your liability....

Thank you very much sirs. As advised by Raja Sir, it may not suitable for my business it looks. Will continue like this.. Thank you once again sirs. S
