can anyone plz explain to me the computation of average salary in order to get exemption of gratuity and leave salary...i am confused a bit ,...which 10 months salary needs to be taken??1 day before the retirement or upto a month before retirement.....provide me a suitable example if u can...

In case of Gratuity -
Salary of Last 10 Months Preceding the MONTH of retirement is taken.
In case of Leave Salary -
Average Salary of Last 10 Months Preceeding the DATE of Retirement is taken.
