it's upto you...say if you a share to a person then the profit forgone by you and the number of years for which you can maintain will be the value of goodwill....say if your business profit is 500000 and you can maintain the same for a periode of 3 years and if you are giving 1/5 share for your new incoming partner then your goodwill will be 500000*1/5 *3 that is 300000
