My grandmother gave 245gram gold jewellery to my wife in our marriage. There are my two quarries first what we call it in "property return" gift or inheritance and second is this taxable.

Quick Summary
A user received 245 grams of gold jewellery from their grandmother as a wedding gift and is unsure if it's considered a taxable event or an inheritance. The consensus is that gifts received from relatives on the occasion of marriage are not taxable under the relevant Act.

Gift received from relatives on the occasion of marriage is not taxable under the Act.

Agreed with @ Kiran Ji !

here two thing , we need to focus that is gift received from relative

and gift received on the occasion of marriage

NO question of taxability shall be raised .
