Im about to finished my articles and wish to get into practice asap. Can anyone help me with the basic proderural parts for the same with Icai. Also I have gmcs due this Oct'11 and my seniors tell that it may take 3-9 months to get my membership details. If this is so then what can I do till that point of time.

Congratulations on deciding for getting into practice. Unless u complete ur GMCS t can't apply for membership no. So , finish ur GMCS in the immediate next batch. You can undergo GMCS during articleship itself as the days of GMCS shall not be counted as leaves. Immediately after finishing ur articles u can apply for membership no. Along with that u can apply for membership no also. With in 2 months u'l get ur membership no. All the very best for ur practice.
