Form 16A for dividend shares

TDS 370 views 5 replies

Form 26AS does not have a certificate number that we can fill while filing income tax return in the TDS section while Form 16A has a certificate number and this has to be entered in the IT Return. Many good companies have still not sent Form 16A for TDS on dividends paid in FY 2020-21 AY 2021-22 though the last date of giving Form 16A is 31-07-2021 inspite of repeated reminders. Is it possible to leave the space of certificate number blank or mention XXXXXXX and then file the return?

Yes you can file return
For tds purpose, we don't have to give certificate no
we have to give tan of deductor and bsr code of deductor
same is reflected in 26AS
we can not leave blank space, it will show error
But if it is not reflected then??

If tds is not reflected, then obviously, we can not claim tds by leaving blank spaces.

We can file itr, without claiming tds

Ok thanks for the information
