As the title says I am new accountant here and never filed form 16 before. I would like to know is the salary computation is mandatory or not?

If an employee's salary exceeds basic exempted limit, TDS deduction is compulsory and pay it to treasury. In such case issue of form 16 which is TDS certificate, becomes mandatory; otherwise not.
