My uncle is a citizen of USA and in FY 2012-13 he earned income more than 10 lakh and he deposited in india in form of cash by exchange the foreign currency here. Now he received a leter from Income tax Department. kindly tell me what reply i should give. Should i give reply online by compliance?

If the income was taxed in US no tax liability would arise in India. So, reply to the concerned authourity about the source of the deposits along with the facts. Yes, if any compliance is generated in this case, you can submit it online.
