Quick Summary
This discussion concerns an NRI client who received foreign inward remittances for salary and bonus into their Indian bank account from a Malaysian company. The funds were paid into the Indian account as the client's Malaysian account was closed upon their departure from Malaysia to work in Denmark. The client has already been taxed on this amount in Malaysia and is seeking clarification on the tax treatment in India, specifically how to declare it in their Income Tax Return (ITR) and claim benefits for taxes already paid.
