I hv query that FCRA is only applicable to ngo ?
My private co. is in film production on social issue but its motive is to spread awareness as well as earn revenue from it.
It is receiving donation for the same. I think FCRA is applicable, right??
FCRA Act is applicable for contribution received from foreign not for commercial purpose.. As per my view Film production on social issue is a commercial activity & any amount received for this purpose shall not attract FCRA..

I fsearched for your query i got a question related to this issue in FAQs:
Q. Can a private limited company or a partnership firm get registration
or prior permission under FCRA, 2010?
Ans. The answer is 'No' as the Memorandum & Articles of association of
such a company would not have such a provision in its objects clause to
receive and utilise foreign donations for the purposes prescribed under
FCRA, 2010. However, such a company may create a separate registered
foundation or trust which would be able to obtain prior permission or
registration under FCRA, 2010 subject to fulfillment of the conditions
prescribed under the Act.
