How much knowledge want before going to articleship

Depends on the type of firm you join for example if it is an audit extensive firm the sound knowledge of AS Ind AS SA are required
before joining articleship you have to complete orientation program and IT Training that is enough to start articleship
Firms Like Big 4 ask you questions to test your knowledge. Mid size or small firms don't always ask you questions. Even if they do, then questions would be based on IPCC/Inter subjects like Audit, Accounts & Taxation.
