Hi Rajiv,
In order to be eligible for an exemption in relation to a paper, the student must appear for all papers in the group with respect to the paper for which he seeks to avail exemption.
In short, NO, you have to appear in all the papers in 2ND group.i.e you can't be absent in any exams of 2ND group.
