can anyone tell me what is firm underwriting and who will pay application and allotment money in case of firm understanding

firm under writing is nothing but underwriters given committment to take some shares.
this committment will provided by the underwriters at the time of making agreement with company for public issue of shares.
so under writers has to pay share issue price for the firm underwritten shares.
