FILING OF ITR FOR A.Y. 2017-18 and A.Y. 2018-19

Hello everyone,

one of my client having only interest income for A.Y. 2017-18 and A.Y. 2018-19. As total income is below 2,50,000 he did not file ITR but Bank had deducted TDS on interest income.

So is there any way that how can we get back that TDS as refund?

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to claim a refund for Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on interest income for Assessment Years 2017-18 and 2018-19, when the Income Tax Return (ITR) was not filed because the total income was below the taxable limit. The recommended procedure involves applying to the Commissioner of Income Tax for condonation of delay in filing a belated ITR. This process can be initiated by submitting a condonation request to the relevant officer, and upon approval, the ITR can be filed to claim the TDS refund.

If  you are having   refund  case then you can  apply to  Commissioner  of  Income  Tax   for  Condonation  of delay   for  filing  belated Income  tax return   .

For that I have to visit income tax office?
is there via online possible?

Please check out  at e.filing  of Income  Tax return  web site  and  refer  circular  9/2015 ( F.no 312/22/ 2015 -OT)   dated  9/6/2015 of Income Tax department   , you have  to follow  this  procedure  for  belated  refund  and set-off loss cases .

Ok
thank you.
You can file condonation request to officer and of it is approved than can file return and claim tds.
