Filing of ITR after due date

Hi every one,

My father has a TDS of rs. 10038 for the AY 2012-13, As the due date for filing of ITR is completed, i am unable to file the return online now. I am sure that the entire TDS amount will be refund as the income of my father falls below the basic exemption limit. My quesion is whether there is any way to file the return now and get the refund.

Please help me.

Hi,

Yes, you can file the belated return online now. You have a time available till March 31, 2015 for the financial year 2013-14 and if income is non taxable, can get the refund back by filing the return.

you have two options to claim that tds...... first, ask you AO to issue a notice u/s 142(1) and then return can be filed in its response and claim tds. second option, from FY 13-14 onwards you can claim any unclaimed tds of previous years. you can claim tds of AY 12-13 in your return filed for FY 13-14.
