My Father is Senior citizen for is getting .50% higer interst on FD from bank. My question is can my mother open FD in my fathers bank account for extra .50% interest rate?
What will be income tax rules i have to follow? and how TDS will be treated.

In that case Bank will treat it as FD of your father, and deduct TDS whenever applicable.
Your father will have to claim the excess amount of TDS by filing IT return, as such the interest income will be assessed under your father's income.
So, calculate the taxability as per slab rate of your father and mother individually, and take call.
