Wanted to know whether the FBT is applicable on conference calls made outside India?

FBT is not applicable on conference calls.
Conference calls will be charged to FBT if these are made through Telephone. Applicable section - 115WB(2)(J)
Section says " any expenditure on use of telephones including mobile phones (installed anywhere)." Thus it is clear that whatever is the usage, conference calls will be taxed.
