Family memeber scrutiny while scrutiny of individ income tax

No. He cant. For each scruitny he has to send seperate notice.

But in the scrutiny notice or questionire assessing officer asks for details of family members too.is I possible that they can ask for family members pan numbers and do some scrutiny as his end ? Or is that less probable or not permisable. ? Again plz assume there are no interconnected bank entries with family members.

He can ask details to check diversion of income from one person to other but he cant be called on for scruitny without a seperate notice

He does it to cross examine the records at their end. But even in that case, scrutiny notice will be sent to each member individually

AO cannot assess the income of related family members of assessee while doing assessment.

He can ask you about the income of you and your relatives, but he cannot assess the income of your relatives.

If he have any doubts regarding the income of your family members, he will have to issue fresh notice as per the Income tax Act, if the time limits are available and as per the full procedure in case of a fresh scrutiny.
