Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to claim expenses when filing an ITR2 form, particularly for individuals with both salary income and mutual fund capital gains. While salary income figures should align with your Form 16, for mutual fund capital gains, eligible expenses like broker fees or loan interest can be deducted to reduce your taxable gain. In many cases, if no such specific expenses were incurred, the deductible amount will be zero.

For salary income follow the figures as per Form 16, issued by your employer.

For mutual fund capital gains, any expenditure over the transaction like broker's fee, interest paid over loan taken for the investment; if any may be deducted. Otherwise its '0' in most of the cases.

Thank you Dhirajlal.
