if I have secured more than 60 marks in paper 1 & paper 4 in one attempt , and failed such group
would I get exemption in both papers in subsequent attempt or only I can choose to exempt only one paper?

You can claim all exemption received in a single attempt for next 3 attempts

Yes you can get maximum 2 papers for one group..
