Excise unit closer

In excise, separate registration is required for separate premises.

So you will have to take registration of other premises in the name of current company. After that you can produce at both premises.

for eg .We are having RST CO PVT LTD AT RABALE AND ABC CO PVT LTD AT AMBERNATH. Both company have same product. For avoild double taxation we want to close RST CO PVT LTD AT RABALE and start the work of ABC CO PVT LTD AT RABALE PLACE. What will be the procedure? or shall we merge the company. Do you have an idea if we merge the company what effect will be on excise and sales and service tax.

I do not have any idea about merger. In excise, you have to surrender your excise registration in the name of RST Co. Pvt. Ltd. at Rabale. Then get new registration for Rabale in the name of ABC Co. Pvt. Ltd.

The regsitration of the taken over unit needs to be surrendered along with the application for registration for the taking over company. Application under Rule 10 of CCR for transfer of credit maybe made.

If only one unit would despatch the goods then one of the units can be deregistered and can work only as a job work unit.

shall we take excise number for rental unit?

Yes as there maybe cpaital goods on whcih credit is claimed and goods maybe despatched form there. If both not there then you can inform dept. by way pof speed post letter.
