Excise paid under wrong assessee code

I have by mistake paid excise under the excise assessee code of my sister company.

Dept is asking us to pay excise duty in the correct assessee code and then apply for refund under the wrong excise code.

Is there no way under which we can get the code corrected and avoid this hassle?

Only IT department of excise office can give best advise on this subject. Senior official may have authority to edit the details. If no editing allowed, then follow as per officer guidelines.
