Whenever asseessee enters newly to excise, there are few steps requires to be followed and they are
1) Check whether the process amounting to Manufacture?
2) if yes, check whether the same is excisable? then marketability also requires to be checked
3) afer checking that,classification and ascertaining the duty of for such product
4) Checking any reduced rate of duty for such products and analysing cost benefit analysis by keeping various things in mind like based on your cenvat optimisation and your end customers
5) Initial disclosure letter to be made to excise department
When such lengthy procedure is there, I request you to please consult your consultant to check the above.

We have already taken excise registrarion number of manufacturer, but i an unable to find out that how to know excise rate applicable to this product. kindly tell me that if excise is applicable in this case or not payable at nil rate.
