section 447 - penalty for fraud is non compoundable as is says imprisonment and fine both

punishment for violation of section 128 is compoundable as it has "or" in between.

basic funda is where penalty prescribes "Imprisonment and fine" or only "Imprisonment" it is called non compoundable as imprisonment can not be avoided by paying monetary compensation.

all other cases apart from mentioned above would be compounding one.
